Ngata Signs Franchise Tender

Haloti Ngata's agent says the the Baltimore Ravens Defensive Tackle has signed a $12.5 million, one-year franchise tender. Mike McCartney said on Wednesday that the deal was reached and had been signed. Baltimore elected Ngata as their franchise player at the beginning of February. The Ravens want to eventuality sign him to a long-term deal.

Ngata played all 16 games in the 10-11 season. He registered 63 total tackles with 46 of them being solo. He had 5.5 sacks and 5 passes deflected. Ngata proved yet again this year that he is the best all around defensive tackle in the game of football. Haloti is a rare talent when it comes to defensive tackles. He can clog up the middle but also drop back into coverage or sack the quarterback.

In his career Ngata has been selected to two Pro Bowls, First Team All-Pro (2010) and been selected twice for Second-Team All-Pro selection ('08 and '09).

Ngata is a freak of nature. He is one of my favorite players currently playing for The Ravens. I attended one of his signings and he a hell of a nice guy. He was very polite and didn't mind signing autographs. He also was pleased with standing up and taking pictures for a couple hundred people. I'm really glad Ngata plans not only to come back to Baltimore but to also state that he wouldn't want to be any where else.
