Will The Jets Ever Reach The Holy Grail

Where To Now for Rex Ryan His Gang Green

Before Rex Ryan threw down his headset on the cold, hard, turf of Heinz Field last Sunday, he must have asked himself a few questions.  Rex must have asked himself "Is it possible that Gang Green might never make the holy grail under his leadership?"

Two years  running the Jets franchise have been robbed of a place in the greatest show on earth; The Superbowl.  The greatest show on earth the Superbowl, may also never get to stage to me the greatest character of the modern game and his second love, the New York Jets.  Why is it that a team that beats two of the greatest quarterbacks in recent times, one after the other, cannot finish the job and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers to earn a place in the Superbowl?

My thoughts on this are simple, Rex Ryan and his team have all the confidence in the world, a great quarterback, a mix of young and experienced players in both offense and defense, that I feel have yet to blend into the finished product.  I feel The Jets are about one more training camp away from reaching the promised land; yes, that's what I said, I believe "Gang Green" will be in next years Superbowl.  The only thing that will stand between them and the Vince Lombardi trophy, will be The NFL and The Players Union facing lockouts next season.

As the headphones belonging to Rex Ryan hit the turf on that cold, Pittsburgh turf, Coach Ryan knew deep down that his team have yet to blend as contenders for a Superbowl.  Great teams will tell you that without a good mix of players, both young and old, no team can have much success.  Maybe it will be a case of "third times a lucky charm" for coach Rex Ryan and his New York Jets, if they can avoid the lock-out that is being presented to NFL players next season.Maybe in Rex Ryan,s mind he feels that time might be running out for some of his older players and a lockout might just destroy whatever momentum he and his team might have left lets hope that that may not be the case in 2011.

  1. Pretty sure that Rex Ryan was not thinking about any of those things you listed above.
First off as a blog writer, you are not supposed to be biased and seeing as your a "Jets Fan" it would be nice to see you stop praising and crowning the jets unfairly.
Also knowing Rex Ryan, hes about as confident as they come and there is no doubt in my mind that he was asking him self "Will i ever make it to the superbowl"
Lastly as for momentum? What momentum do they have going now that can be ruined by the "Potential Lockout" which we all know will not be happening becuz the ratings of all NFL regular and playoff games were THROUGH the roof. If you wanna talk about momentum, how about coming into this year as a previous 9 game winner that made it into and even led an AFC championship game against a goliath of a team like the '10 Colts and Beating the Pats and colts in the playoffs, how about that for momentum i guess that still wasnt enough to beat a slighty above average team in the steelers?
